From a weather farm to a 5-star hotel
Tennerhof, an attractive farm, was first mentioned in a document dating back to 1679. Because of its special location the “Tennerhof farmer" back then had the task of keeping an eye on the weather and forecasting its development. This was a very important job particularly during harvest time. When a storm was approaching, he hoisted a sheet above the roof of the house. This was the signal for the sexton to ring the big church bell to warn the inhabitants of Kitzbühel. The reverberations of the powerful bells were also supposed to drive away the storm. Even today, hundreds of years later, the church bells still ring when storm clouds are on the horizon!
A time-honoured tradition keeping pace with the times
The Tennerhof has been owned by the Pasquali von Campostellato family since 1923 and is the first 5-star hotel in Kitzbühel. The family has changed it little by little into the charming Luxury Hotel Tennerhof of today which is admired by guests for its beauty. Since the beginning, the hotel has accommodated and pampered numerous guests, including celebrities from the arts, politics, industry, and society.
